If you’ve been following me on Instagram, you know I love sharing about music, vinyl, and audio gear. I always have, but until now, I hadn’t made an effort to create an account specifically focused on this. That changed when I launched @diggininmycrates at the beginning of the year. Over the past year, I treated the account like a playground — posting when inspired, experimenting with ideas, and connecting with others.
Instagram is great, and I have no plans to stop posting there. However, I wanted to maintain the spirit of a playground: a space where I can freely share random pieces, test ideas, and just do whatever I feel like without worrying about algorithms, engagement, being “on brand,” or trolls. I need a space to just be — a place that feels more free. And considering just how long I’ve been blogging, a blog felt like the natural format to house everything I do with Diggin’ in My Crates.
While this blog/mixtape/substack is intended to host all my content, Diggin’ in My Crates is a section of the site that’s meant to be an extension of what I started on Instagram. Through this section, you can expect to find:
Deep dives into rare finds and hidden gems from my collection
Insights on audio gear and vinyl care
Stories and knowledge I’ve picked up over my years in the music scene (professionally + personally)
Behind-the-scenes looks at my crate-digging adventures
Whether you’re a seasoned collector or just getting started, there’s something here for everyone.
Diggin’ in My Crates is my love letter to music that lingers—the songs that get caught in your chest and refuse to let go. It’s about the search, the find, and the feeling of bliss you have when you close your eyes and just listen.
I’m intrigued!! This is dope! 🙌🏾
